This editorial about DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or “Dreamers” program, has the right priorities. It was written the week before Trump announced the program’s end, but the issues have not changed. It recognizes the question of whether this kind of program should be started or ended by the president or congress, but it focuses on the people most affected. Eight hundred thousand people came here as children and grew up as Americans. If they are deported, their whole lives are going to be messed up.
